Welcome to the Bunker Questionnaire, a series in which we ask Bunker Projects residents and exhibiting artists a few questions based on Marcel Proust’s famous Proust Questionnaire, a survey that purported to reveal a person’s true nature. We hope their answers and the accompanying photos allow you to get to know them and their work a little bit more.
Mono Feo is a Charlotte based artist and organizer. Growing up as a Charlotte native, the city’s history became a point of inspiration for their work. They started the local annual film screening, MIDNIGHT HOMEMOVIES, dedicated to celebrating DIY and underground film. In 2023, they were an artist-in-residence at Goodyear Arts and are now a member of their artist collective. They are an active member of the Atlanta-based performance art collective, Tooth Lifeless, of which was a recent recipient of the Nexus Fund from the Andy Warhol Foundation. Currently they’re working as a fellowship artist at the McColl center.

“Industrial Halloween Clown”
Who are your favorite artists/the ones who’ve influenced you most?
“Ralph Bakshi, the Thrill Kill Kult, and Throbbing Gristle have definitely had the most impact on me.”
What is your idea of happiness?
“Being healthy and making art under no impending sense of stress.”
What’s your favorite studio ritual or habit?
“I love dancing in my studio.”
Where do you go or what do you do when you need inspiration to recharge
“I usually go for a drive. In Charlotte I have a list of places from my childhood that inspire me.”
What’s the next goal or milestone you are working toward in your practice?
“Working towards making a film.”
What’s the best creative advice you’ve received?
“Go bigger.”
What draws you to do artist residencies?
The space and time away from home really makes me focus on working.
