Welcome to the Bunker Questionnaire, a series in which we ask Bunker Projects residents and exhibiting artists three questions from Marcel Proust’s famous Proust Questionnaire, a survey that purported to reveal a person’s true nature. We hope their answers and the accompanying photos allow you to get to know them and their work a little bit more.

Laura Li works at the intersections of art, healing, and community organizing. Through poetry, video, and performance, they explore family archives, grief, memory, and life in diaspora. Laura’s work has been recognized and supported by the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, Asian American Arts Alliance, BRIC, Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE), Queens Art Fund, and New York Foundation of Arts, among others. Their poetry and writing have been published in Positions: Asia Critique (Duke University Press), Cha: An Asian Literary Journal, Massachusetts Review, and beyond. They are the co-director and co-founder of the grassroots organization Chinese Artists and Organizers (CAO) Collective, which has hosted over 50 workshops with over 4000 participants, performances, and exhibitions across the United States, China, and Japan.

Describe yourself in three words.
“Fluidity, Healing, Embrace.”

Who are your favorite artists/the ones who’ve influenced you most?
