The Shop

As one of the few dedicated arts publications in Pittsburgh, The Bunker Review provides context to our audiences, offers unique interpretations, and creates space for discussions around contemporary art. In addition to traditional arts writing, we also publish experimental works, mixed media pieces, and explore online publication as a platform for art making. We are honored to support the careers of working artists and arts writers through a combination of writing opportunities, live events and audio-visual programming.

About the bunker review

We’re excited to introduce a new series in the Bunker Review called the Bunker Questionnaire, in which we ask Bunker Projects residents and exhibiting artists three questions from Marcel Proust’s famous Proust Questionnaire. Proust’s survey that purported to reveal a person’s true nature; our hope is that our artists’ answers and the accompanying photos allow you to get to know them and their work a little bit more.

First up: Masha Solus, a Pittsburgh-based artist originally from Russia who primarily works in watercolor, with additional explorations in video art, installation, and writing. In her paintings, she seeks common ground with the world and people, finding moments of recognition in the reflections of her own vision.
