INAUTHENTICA is a pop up exhibition of new works by Andrew Allison curated by Bunker Projects Director, Jessie Rommelt. These works represent a collection of paintings and sculptures created in Allison's signature process which seamlessly melts painting and sculpture with an inherent connection to costume and textile work. Each piece provides a map, portal or artifact from a vast and twisted world full of both humanoid and monstrous beings.

Curatorial Statement:
There is a world inside all of us. Sometimes we govern it and other times it governs us. Whether it stands together as a choir or at arms in battle we know it’s there.

Allison’s work attempts communication with an internal world that may or may not be his own. Stemming from early encounters with night terrors, he channels the unpredictable quality of the unconscious mind to conjure physical premonitions that spill from an unknowable source.

Looking at Allison’s work we can commune together in a space that we often discourage in ourselves. A place that is akin to horror and heaven simultaneously. Here our deeply restricted desires morph and propagate without our consent. This tenuous relationship with our own animalistic and spiritual desires is one that comes to life in Allison’s work. It could take you down a trail that may appease or invade you.
